Richa Sharma is a PhD graduate from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India, she has focused on the synthesis and practical applications of natural product-inspired fused bio-heterocycles. The doctoral thesis, titled “Chemistry on Natural Product Inspired Fused Bio-heterocycles: Synthesis and Practical Applications,” explored innovative approaches in this area. With a strong academic foundation, including a Master’s degree from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, and a Bachelor’s degree from Hindu College, University of Delhi, Richa Sharma has gained extensive expertise in organic chemistry. During the PhD, specialized experience was gained in functionalization and regio/site-selective C-H bond activation of various nitrogen-containing heterocycles using both transition metal-free and metal-catalyzed catalysis. Much of this work involved radicals and N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) intermediates. Additionally, she also has hands-on experience in the total synthesis of pharmaceutically active compounds, notably the synthesis of Artemisinin-inspired 1,2,4-trioxanes, with applications in anticancer treatments.
