Day 1 of 5th training week

On Monday, each of the fellows gave a progress report, presenting the activities conducted in the past months, as well as the outputs achieved (completed secondments, articles, conference presentations) and future plans. The fellows also answered follow-up questions from the members of the imπACT Management Team.

Day 2 of 5th training week

On Tuesday, the fellows followed all-day training with Dr Piet Verhoeve, founder of Origanius, a company that enables smart collaborations so organisations can grow and innovate faster. Piet’s workshop provided some practical guidance and reflective exercises on how to set up collaborations that are genuine and effective.

Day 3 of 5th training week

On Wednesday morning, the fellows heard from Dr Jeffrey Rosamond (UGent) about the EU Green Deal. Using a political science lens, Jeffrey talked about the current status and implications of the EU Green Deal in the medium and long term. In the afternoon, the speaker was Sebastien Deletaille, founder and CEO of the digital health app Rosa. Sebastien clearly discussed how interdisciplinarity can lead to societal impact, using as an example the monitoring activities of his company during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Day 4 of 5th training week

On Thursday the fellows had the chance to revise and strengthen their business cases thanks to the input of Prof Thomas Crispeels. Final checks were needed before the big event on Friday!

Day 5 of 5th training week
On Friday our first cohort of fellows completed their training by presenting the business cases that they had been developing over the course of the past 2 years. From app development and consultancy companies to public engagement, the fellows showcased the many ways in which their research can create impact. After each presentation, a jury of experts asked some follow up questions. We then celebrated the successful presentations with some good foods and drinks!
